Match Preview: City vs. Dortmund

After the performance away in London last week, City should be going into this game full of confidence against the German champions. A victory is an almost certain requirement if they have ambitions of qualifying for the second round of the Champions league.

A victory will cement City in pole position to qualify I feel but they must approach the game with extreme caution against the German Champions as they have quality throughout the side.

Roberto Mancini goes into the game against Dortmund with all most a fully fit squad to choose. Samir Nasri is trying to regain match fitness after a brief cameo display in City's 2-1 away victory on Saturday at Craven Cottage. Gareth Barry is near match fit now thankfully after starting the game against Fulham the English midfielder is still yet to complete a ninety minutes for City since his return from injury from the Summer.

With another big game coming up Saturday against a reluctant Sunderland side, Mancini may need to rotate his team between now and then. Nonetheless, whatever side goes out tonight and Saturday, should still be strong enough to pick up maximum points in both games.

After a convincing performance against Fulham at the weekend, Samir Nasri, Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli who all came on as a sub will be pushing for a starting place in the City XI tonight, whilst Gareth Barry is competing with Javi Garcia and Jack Rodwell for a place alongside Yaya Touré in midfield. The likes of James Milner, Scott Sinclair and Joleon Lescott will be all desperate to be involved, but Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez could start again in attack as their partnership shows signs of continuous development despite Dzeko's phenomenal goalscoring form

Dortmund have done exceptional the last two seasons after winning the Bundersliga in 2011, they soon regained there title overcoming Champions League losing finalists Bayern Munich with players like Mats Hummels in defence, Robert Lewandowski up front and Shinji Kagawa dominating the midfield, almost like David Silva has done for City, Despite a few years between the turn of the century and now, Dortmund struggled for years with Jan Koller only being their star in a poor side that sold the likes of Tomas Rosicky and Steven Pienaar to Premier League Sides.

Predicted team: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Nastasic, Kolarov, Y. Toure, Barry, Nasri, Silva, Aguero, Tevez.

Prediction: City 2 Dortmund 1. Yet again, I don't expect City to keep a clean sheet tonight sadly with a probable goal from one of their inform attack men. I also fully expect City to continue their scoring with a goal from David Silva and a strike from Sergio Aguero being my prediction
