Why City will win the FA Cup

Winning the FA Cup this season will probably mean more to City than it would to any other club. Already out of the Champions League, Europa League and arguably the Premier League title race, this is realistically the last trophy this season City have to fight for. With pressure mounting on City boss, Roberto Mancini more after every game, the charismatic will still need to prove to owner Sheikh Mansour and everybody else in the football world that he is indeed, the right man for the job.

After City convincingly beat Leeds United in the last round of the cup with a strong team, Barnsley await City at the Etihad Stadium in the quarter finals. City should win that game and I'm of the opinion that Mancini will field another starting XI full of world class names. If City end up in the semi-final at the magnificent Wembley Stadium you only have to look at who is left in the competition to realise that City have a great chance - Only 4 Premier League clubs remain in the Quarter Finals (apart from City) and names like Millwall, Blackburn and Wigan and can stand stand in our way from the lower leagues.  Also, there is to be a quarter-final tie between two of the top teams in England – Manchester United and Chelsea. This means that one top club will be knocked out and make the task much easier for City.

City's first trophy in 35 years
When I was watching from the stands during the Leeds game, it was evident that Mancini had instilled desire and passion back into the side, after the humiliating Southampton loss the week before. City played with strength and determination as well as a will to score and the ability to string together quick passing moves. What made us smile the most was how much it seemed like our strikers were hitting form again. Two goals from Sergio Aguero and a great finish from Carlos Tevez. Edin Dzeko also played with purpose from his brief stint off the bench. This was more than enough to see off Leeds. City were back.

City await Barnsley in the next round. City should all have the full belief that they can do it.  Hopefully, I’ll see you at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 11th May!
